My girlfriend and I are headed to VA Beach this weekend.. Probably heading down really early Friday morning and staying until Sunday (will be back in Roanoke late Sunday night). I remember there were a few 757 locals that either worked for, or had hook ups with local hotels. Help me out! She's called around to a few places that seemed lower end and a few places are $400+ a night or $500 for two nights. Are they really that much higher in VB than Myrtle Beach???

Would we really be better off heading to Myrtle instead? I'm not supposed to leave the state. lol

 

Someone must be able to help! C'monnnnn.. Stressing out about this. I was just going to wait 'til we got down there to find a reasonably priced vacancy, but I could use some help.

stay in Greenbrier...cheaper rooms, malls right there, and 64 is about 30 sec away, thus making the beach less than 15 min away

 

This weekend is going to be rough because the VB Rock and Roll Half Marathon and it's got 20,000 runners in it. People come from all over the country. Good luck with a hotel room mang!

 

I heard about the concerts on the beach and strip, but I didn't know there was a marathon with 20k runners! Holy crap.

So is there anywhere I should avoid? I'll hit up the usual travel websites.. hotels.com, travelocity, etc.. but I don't know my way around VB all that well.
