Default I need to silence my exhaust system.

So, I just acquired exhaust ticket #2 a few days ago. This time I'm probably going to actually fix it. I'm not getting a factory exhaust put back on though. Right now my '89 Acura Integra has a Magnaflow Cat-back exhaust system. I don't know enough about cars to do this stuff myself, which is why I'm asking for some help.

I need to know if anyone has any solutions as to what could be done to silence the noise and where I could get it done. I live in the Western Branch area, and anywhere within 50-55 miles would be nice. I know Gary at Superior Automotive could install a resonator, but I heard those things just make the exhaust a more higher pitched version of what you already have. I really don't want to drive down the street buzzing like an angry mosquito.

I was planning on trying to get my exhaust noise silenced anyway, but not so soon. I don't want people to be able to hear me coming before they see me anymore. My car is slow right now, but I always liked the idea of making it into a sweet sleeper. That funny thing (Or not so funny) is that, I got my second improper muffler ticket the same day I paid off my first.

So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Put a 31 in. glass pack (cherry bomb) after your catylitic converter. If you have a cat that is.... If you have no cat, put one back on it will help it alot. Cherry bomb's are very cheap and having a 31" under there will def. quiet it down quite a bit.

12"+ resonator will quiet it down quite a bit and it wont make it sound like shit.

if you wanna keep your exhuast and quiet it down a lil, find a silencer that fits your tip......drill a whole or three in the tip, and the silencer, drop a in there, and tighten it up...brings the Db's down a lil bit.....not guaranteed to make your tickets go away, but it will help

Are you kidding me? I have one of those, same setup haha, just a cat welded to a cherrybomb glass pack. it's more or less deep i guess.

Ok, and he has the rest of the exuast system. Way back in the day I had a crx and hated how loud it was with the exuast I had. So from what I remember it helped ALOT and cost me like $25. Those and "turbo" mufflers made by Thrust are good cheap solutions to add to your exuast system.

Put the stock exhaust back on, problem solved and we don't have to see anymore of these stupid threads.
