I support the military and salute our soldiers they are the best and greatest in the world. But, at the same time. once you enlist........... you are "owned". its almost like being a slave. you no longer have rights or entitlements.... just a paycheck on the 1st and the 15th. did i forget to mention a free grave?
True....I agree but I am gauranteed a paycheck whereas others may not be. Free grave.....yes you can look at it that way...but I look at it as $400K that goes to my family when I kick the bucket.
I hate the military myself but that is for personal reasons. There are many negatives but also positives.
-30 of leave a year
-paid holidays
-mil to mil marriages bank major money...(just a plus)
-life insurance for $30 a month
-retirement in 20 years (if that is your thing...definately not mine)
-free education-good resume foundation when you do get out
