Just to set things back in perspective. The Evo8 has Michigan plates right? If so the dude can't drive and ran mid 14's at the track. AWD is a great thing for handling but the drag racing thing is not it's niche. You can't warm up your tires and it is too easy to bog your launch. That is why the Easy Street sponsored WRX is running 9's converting their REX to RWD.
The BOV depending on what model can be pretty quite. Just because you can't hear the BOV doesn't mean the car doesn't have power. AND WTF is with you hearing the turbo spooling at idle. You can't hear the turbo spooling at idle because there is not boost running.

WTF! All these dudes with non turbo cars think they know what they fuct they are talking about. First of all, a BOV doesn't make power. Since the weather is cool the Evo won't have problems with the heat but the tires will be cold, so 13.3-13.5 with a good driver could be attained.
I went to the track with a guy with a RX7 tt with minimal mods and he was almost hitting high 12's. The key point here is that his slowest run was a 13.3 and his runs were consistent. I am not saying the EVO would have been smoked or vice versa but the run would have been real close.
