I finally got my new f-body!!! I am the proud owner of a 2001 firebird GT. Yes, it is a real car and before you ask, it's an SLP car. Those of you who don't know what SLP is, it stands for Street Legal Performance and it is the high performance center for GM. What makes my car a GT is, it is a V6 3800 series II Y87 motor, with Trans Am exhaust and suspension. So, it has between 5-10 more horsepower than a normal v6 bird. It also has GT emblems and GT center caps on the WS6 wheels it comes with. It's navy blue metallic. I will get pics as soon as i can!!! The SLP is #49. I still haven't been able to find out how many were made in that year. If anyone knows or can help me out....lemme know!!!

 

Congrats, I'm not much of a fan of V6 muscle cars, but at least it's a limited production model.

that was the other thing i forgot to mention. For me to get the refunds back on my grand am from the dealership i work at, i had to buy another car from there. so i would have been throwing 2g's in refund away. They found me this one and basically had no choice if i wanted a car anytime soon. Also insurance would have raped me on a TA. I am only 19, and paying for all this on my own. lol i'm not a rich mofo like some ppl. HAHAHA j/k

 

Insurance sucks. I'm 18 on my 03 GT and it costs $268 a month. My 02 Sentra GXE was $201 a month.
