Good place for a fade
Do any of the places that are good @ whiteboy hair pull out the straight blade, some warmed lather, and after-shave and all that crap? I got a barber shop back in Chicago that does all that, and then at the end busts out a hand-held massager thing and does a quick shoulder massage, 3 of the guys are from Italy. It's $15 but I haven't seen anywhere around here that does all that...? (I don't mind skipping the massage part, but I miss the straight blade and lather part, feels clean)
I have been in VA for 2 years now and i haven't found any shops that can do a good fade on my hair. I'm puerto rican and black, so you can imagen how curly and nappy my hair can get. In miami the shop i use to go to had a big screen tv, the barbers always cracked on each other, and the atmosphere in the shop was friendly and welcoming. I went to a shop on rt17 call greens barber shop I believe. This asain lady game me the worst fade of my life and then told me she didnt know how to cut black peoples hair. WTF!!!! Then she kept telling me i should of gone to some place on warrick were all the brotha's go. WTF. She should of told me that before she started cutting my hair.
Neatless to say......i told her to cut my hiar bald. DAMN!!!
So I'm asking for help for those that live in the Yorktown, Gloucester, NN, and Hampton area that know a place that can actually do fades, blowouts, and line ups.

Hair designs by toby on Warwick in denbigh. There is NO barber shop that cuts better than Benny at that shop. NO ONE. I've been here for over 3 years and have never found anyone to cut better. They shape up with a straight razor and it comes out looking like it was drawn on with a pencil and a ruler. I do not recommend just walking in though on any day after thursday. Make an appt. with Benny.
