when a radio station switches formats, the stuff they play the day or few before the changeover is usually completely unrelated to what they used to, and what they're going to be. it's so that they both garner attention from random people talking about it (because they usually play complete shit), and to confuse competing stations as to what the new direction is going to be.
what type of radio stations are there currently not? because that's probably what the station is going to end up being.
I was told that when a radio station changes its format, until they have the proper approval, so they can only play one song, which is why a long time ago, when they were switching to country music, they played the song 'shes gone country' continuously for 24 hours. As of last night the 106.1 was all rascal flatts and it was called rascal 106.1
