what is the law about mufflers? i have a 50 state carb aboved mugen muffler on my hb, which was legal in oklahoma because it has a honda stamp on it and the plate says 50 state carb aboved And my car is very very quite and you can only really see the tip. will my car pass inspection, beacuse i need to get it done soon, and wheres a good place?

 

As long as it doesnt leak you shouldn't have a problem getting the sticker but you can still get ticketed if a cop wants to fuck with you.

i got a mirror to show him, you can now buy mugen from some honda dealer as factory option. cop are just haten' on imports, when the last time you seen a cop pull over a mustang with flow masters on it? or any US car with mod exhaust. i say we all start take picture of cops with someone pulled over for anything, and post the to show how many imports to US they pull over.

as long as there are no leaks from the header back then you will pass VA inspection. doesn't matter how loud it is.

 

yep, I have a Tanabe racing medallion exhaust and its freaking loud and I have never been questioned at inspection time.

 

Techinically anything aftermarket is illegal.. however, if your original equipment needed to be replaced, you can wtih anything dot approved (cats, exhuasts, etc). If you can't hear it from a good bit away, you wont get a ticket. Besides that, you can't be ticketed for anything offered as a factory option. Even Window tint, if it was installed at factory.

 

Actually, i believe, anything not COMPARABLE to stock. Not aftermarket.
