About to post the same thing. LOL Kienan and Vern are some of the top techs around, I've taken my car there for a suspension adjustment.

So you'd trust the potential energy created from a 3500 pound car going full throttle to be contained on two 1/2" bolts? Crazy.

I would venture to guess that putting straps on the body would place more stress on the control arms than just strapping the arms alone. But I don't know.

If only the Dyno Inc guys had gone to work today...

That may be true.. but how would I know that if I don't know him or the shop? I agree with my front control arms being strong enough but wouldn't it make sense to reduce some of the overall loading by also strapping to the rear tow hook? If I don't know how smart or good you are.. and I sign a damage waiver, you can expect me to ask a few basic questions during the first visit.

thanks for the info. I should've read a few more posts about them on here before going down there. Unfortunately, if they really are that good.. me walking in there asking questions was probably like asking picasso if he knows how to paint.

I don't think that would reduce loading. I think it would add a new unnecessary load. Probably safer to keep the stress low and close to the wheels instead of adding a new stress high up on the control arms.

But again, I could be wrong.

My Corvette has aluminum control arms... it's common place to strap the vehicle down by them for dynoing and for towing.

I have nothing but great things to say about their dyno service. We had a Mustang Dyno Day there about a year ago and everyone working the shop that day was top notch and very professional. They took great care loading/unloading all the cars from the dyno. There were probably at least 30 cars their going back-to-back and never had one issue.

Based on just what I saw that day, they are one of the few places I would let do any work on my vehicle.

To get him to suggest you take it somewhere else, I seriously think you had to be saying quite a bit more than just making a suggestion of using the tow hooks. Where your questions for him actually questions, or where they statements telling him that he was doing something wrong, or just lots of questions comparing his process to another shops process?
