Ok so

I have a 1997 Honda Dx. Just bought it. Drove it all the way to Richmond (from Suffolk) and it drove there fine. Drove it around half the day... and it dies... Starts off a jump, but as soon as we took the cables off it died.

Took the battery in to NAPA. They said it was fine. Definately needed a charge but none of the cells were bad. Charged it. Then we took the alternator in ... tested it... passed putting out like 13.9 volts.

put it all back together and drove it home... later it did the same thing...
realized that as it was dieing all the lights and whatnot began to flicker... if i reved the engine that would stay steady, as soon as the RPMs drop it starts wanting to cut out again...

Finally got it home...

Cant figure out what the problem is... The battery checks out, the Alt. checks out , the serpentine belt i think is fine.... it just doesnt make any sense...

( I drove it 100 miles before it died again) is it running on just the battery and then dying???

I dont get it

PM me with some suggestions... My fiance is taking the Alt. off as we speak... going to have it tested again.... ill be back on later to see any respnses left!

Thanks in Advance

Cami

Wiring for alt to batt may be suspect.

Check all the grounds in the charging system. If they tested the battery and alt. the right way and they are fine its in the wires. Corrosion, a loose or bad ground...

I had an issue similar to this a long time ago and it was indeed an issue with the wiring from the alt. to the battery.
