Default DIY Paint jobs

I was wondering recently about doing/figuring how to paint my car myself. BUT bigger question is WHERE? Whoever does their own paint jobs, any recommendations on location? Is there anywhere they would let you do self paint jobs? I don't own a house or an apartment with a garage, hence no place owned to do a full paint job. Any info is thanked.

I plan on doing it with a spray gun. not the method of $50 article. tho, some have good results.

PS. TO MY CYBER GANGSTERS WHO DARES TO TRY TO TALK YOUR UNUSEFUL ADVICE. WHICH I'M PRETTY SURE FALLS UNDER NUMEROUS RULES.

->No need to flame a non-flamable SUBJECT. asking all experienced or have experienced the idea of doing their own without paying an ass ton of $$.

yes, i know. YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET. blah blah. etc.

I have a car that needs a paint job and i want to practice tho i have no experience. NO one has ever done a paint job their first time and knew what they were doing. they wanted to try it and after a few shots found they did it quite well. so here is where i start. Thanks!

dude totally rattle can that bitch with Rustoleum. it works great! esp if you can put 4 or 5 coats on it. then a few coats of rattle can clear coat. looks good as new. I did it to my Jeep, turned out GREAT! i did it in my parent garage.

I would maybe call a smaller shop w/ a paint booth and ask to rent it.

practice on some spare parts, the last thing you are gonna want to do is paint your own car the first time you ever spray material out of an air gun...i practiced on many things before i started spraying cars. i painted parts for customers for a year before i even sprayed my own car, fatigue while spraying takes a toll and will make you really sloppy. get some spare fenders or junked up hoods, prep them and paint em. youll get the feel. and you best learn how to wetsand and buff.
