Default D16z6 to D16y8

Hey, I've read many posts saying that this is not a great idea but i was going to post this up to hear more opinions about it. Even if i don't swap the heads would swapping the Intake Manifolds do anything? I'm trying to get cheap power outta my stock D16z6, if you have any ideas for me I would appreaciate it.

possibly something like 2 whp.

cheap power = a joke

I'll assume you have a 92-95 ex coupe or si hatch. You more then likely have the coupe since the si hatches are super rare. The cheapest things you can do right off will be intake, header, and exhaust. You will see about +/- 20 whp from that which will put you at about a pathetic 120whp depending on how good the parts are that you use. Nitrous could be an option but quite a few people will probably flame on you pretty bad for it.

They make all sorts of aftermarket shit for the d16z6 but power costs money & is it really going to be worth it to sink 3000 bucks into boosting a single cam motor when you can spend about the same amount and at least have a cable-trannied b16 or an LS swap? I know I'd rather have the dual cam motor.

allow about a thousand bucks for the intake, header, and exhaust.

or 600 for a zex nitrous kit.

Good luck with it whichever direction you go.

1000$ for exahaust?

holy shit...

my DC header was 200$
my muffler was 35$ its a magnaflow from advance auto
my 2 1/4 inch exhaust was 84$ from mizer...its from the header back to the muffler..!

so thats a total of 319$ for full exhaust...

you can get 2 1/2 inch exahust too for the same price

name brands are over priced and are bull shit when the exact same thing can be bought from a muffler shop for hundreds cheaper...

good luck
