Yea so there will be a big announcement that Canon Virginia will be expanding. 1,035 jobs will be opeing within a year and a half. If u would like to work for Canon Virginia please watch the news tonight. Not sure of the time. Also, Daily press has something on there home page about it.

"The 700,000sq ft facility will approximatly two-thirds of the size of the existingCVI main plant building and is deisgned to accommodate multiple cartride production lines, reflecting CVI's anticipated growth through 2012. The building will also contain support facilities such as break room and other member oriented areas. It is expected that manufacturing equipment will be installed and operational by late 2009."

Awesome news for the 757...great to hear a company actually adding jobs and not getting rid of them.

When I worked at the Gloucester facility (IRT) there was talking about expanding that facility and also building one similar to that in Newport News.

What they did at IRT was recycle the plastics and metals from old cartridges. I would think that they are just going to create a dismanteling facility in Newport News, like gloucester.

Well, funny that u say that. Cause they are expanding IRT.

There getting a 70K sq ft building and 30 more jobs.

Camera dept is also expanding rapidly. We are going to start doing video camera refurbs and all the powershots. Slowly but surely we are moving into more power shots. Right now we do all the big body cameras like the Rebel XT, XTI and others.
