Calling All Dsm's
Thats cool, really blow off valves go around for like 40 bucks, I thought I was getting ripped at that much but I guess it was a good price, cool. Yea when I first got my car, I raced chuck that week and he beat me without first gear.
And I found out why it was louder I think, most bov come with a couple washers in them or some kind of adjust to tighten them up, I took all mine out and loosened the nut on the side. For some reason it runs a little faster, but creates that idle problem, but the little bit of extra power is worth it again.

the reason for that shitty idle is cuz your bov is opening at idle. basically it's letting unmetered air go into the atmosphere, so the ECU is trying to compensate for the air by dumping more fuel. i'd advise against doing that for too long as you'll prolly end up gettin oil in your gas and fucking something up major. i know us DSMers are all about power, but damned if i'll sacrifice a rebuild for a small hp gain. i'd re-adjust your bov again man.

Yeah I would put one washer back in at a time till the idle smooths out. You will probablly retain the little bit of power that it's giving you even with one or two washers back in.
If you loosen your BOV to much you will loose boost. I had that prob with mine and tightened it way up.
My advise tighten that bitch up untill you can tell its to far then back it off a tad.(you will hear a shutter sound when it blows off) Noise doesn't help performance.

yeah if its bad to the point that it leaks at idle then you definatlye are not gaining ANY kind of performance, just stop and think about it for a second, its just like having a big hole in your pipe just wasting air, but if you think it sounds cool whatever
i heard an SSQ on a friends 1G. sounded cool. like a squirrel mating call or sumthin. my friend thought the guy chirped a tire, and of course he got the "you dumb mfer" look. ¬_¬ <-- the look
