Body Work
pins are a secondary measure, you should keep the latch or get it fixed/buy a new one...also, over time the road will loosen the bolts/nuts holding the pins down, too much play and wind will be able to exert enough force to lift it again. Thats how mine happened. Im lucky I even survived my hood accident, not a mistake I'd make twice, and shouldnt have made to begin with.
take the latch off and hammer it out(i think you have to remove alot of the front bumper&related items but I'd still just bend it back and be done with it).
ps, since yours is already out just take it to an autostore with a hydro press on premises if thats what it takes to bend it back.
