yea i must not know who you are, and i must not have been out there when you were there, im pretty much talking about everyone that ive played with so far. Saying that im not trying to be mean cause i really suck, but none of the guys ive played with out there except trav could hang with these guys, including myself. Good competition and complete domination are two entirely different things, like i said i havent seen you play, im sure your good. But the normal crowd thats out there that ive played with, we play for fun and do our best, but these guys would run through us and not break a sweat.

 

are you serious? if you're that good there's GOT to be somewhere else you can play than christopher farms.

the one time i went out there, it was fun but frustrating- i hate to lose and i didn't win a single game out there. there were a few guys who were competent, and there were guys who probably started playing for the first time in their life a couple weeks ago. no one was 'good', i.e.- could even consider ever playing college ball. and the whole attitude i see everywhere that if you get on a squad with a few players who turn the ball over or take silly shots you throw a fit, just doesn't belong out there. bring out these 'ballers', and it turns into any other popular court in virginia beach, except for the people who are new to the game and/or just not very good at it, aren't going to get the chance to play. and that's not fair to them, because it's a quiet, low-key court right now and they like it.

you want some more competition, head out to bayville, or if you're military head to rockwell or oceana. or some of the rec centers. this thing they've got going at c farms right now is obviously not what you're really looking for.

 

exactly, i go out there to run, get some good exercise and improve my game, im not really out there to be the best team ever. fun competition is fine, especially when most of us are the same skill level or trying to get back to our previous baller skill level. when the super skilled veterans start showing up, well get the backburner, and thats not fun.

 

i think you're both missing the point here. when i went out to c. farms and played with nick and the crew, i thoroughly enjoyed myself. i knew coming out there what to expect. the day was full of friendly and fun runs, i even made some new friends. i didn't exert myself too much, just when we were down 7-2 because like you i don't wanna lose. in fact, i had more fun than when i do play with equal competition simply because there was no arguing, everybody got to see the ball, and the overall fellowship/comradery was great. if i want competition i know where to go, i just felt a little insulted when you generalized everyone's talent. i don't mean to rub anyone the wrong way, and hopefully you didn't take it that way but the reason i will be back out to c. farms monday and not the rec center is because i had a really great time regardless of the skill level.

 

thats my bad, i assumed you were one of the guys i played with. i wasnt trying to insult anyone either, but all i was saying is myself, and the guys ive played with out there couldnt hang with these other guys, point blank. And theres no shame in saying that cause, well, its true. I throughly enjoy myself playing at c farms with all these guys cause there at my skill level and its not too serious but still good exercise and fun.

 

don't sweat it, no harm no foul... everyone was hitting tough shots when i went out, so i'll let you use that excuse only for so long i mean, nick has the kevin garnett jumpshot down to a science. but i'll be out monday, hope to see you guys there.

 

oh im def not saying that they cant shoot, cause sumo and the other guy, cant remember his name right now hit some consistent jump shots. definitely wasnt saying they couldnt shoot, haha...pretty much my only good thing is i hustle my ass off and play the best d i can, cause i cant shoot for shit when im out there.

 

i'll be out there monday.
