"All the dealer has to say is that said vehicle was not designed for increases in horsepower"
Not trying to argue or anything. Usually what happens, it is easier and cheaper to just warranty the problem then deal with legal fees. I mean all you guys know that you abuse your cars when you race.
"I had my entire motor replaced under warranty, since it smoking and burning oil, and I had aftermarket parts and some were even !!! illegal !!!"
The illegal part is the real kicker. Nowadays it's just easier to fix the car and shut the customer up. The sad part is it's the mechanic who gets the shit end of the stick. Not the customer or the dealership or the manufacturer. Warranty work at dealerships pay the mechanic about 40% less pay.
While the warranty act is great for the consumer, it's a joke of a law. Here we are talking about cars that get the shit beat out of them, yet when they break it's the manufacturers fault. Yeah right.

exactly

along with the owners manual for my WRX i got a couple pamphlets talking about what the SCCA is and that if i send in this form i get a free membership and can participate in all these different events. Than there's another form that explains participation in any event will void your warranty.

Explain to me how my motor get's the "shit beat out of it" at a auto-x or track event? Only getting beat up are tires and brakes. It's not my fault they pay the mechanic less, get another job then. I paid my own $$$ to get the extra warranty.

Tell me how I caused my valve seals to go bad since I just got the car? Or why my tranny was making weird noises? They replaced the tranny as soon as I got the car. It was making alot of noises and they told me it was going to be replaced. Some Z owners have been through many transmission so yeah, it is the manufactures fault.

Joke of a law???? It's to protect the consumer from ass holes like you who try to void warranties on a tranny if you put on a different muffler.

I take care of my car and dont beat the hell out of it and it's only been launched maybe twice, I service the hell out it, but cars break and I've got a warranty so you will fix it.

Well here is the problem, I don't work at the dealership so I won't be fixing your Z. You know what they say when you start to assume. But I used to work for Nissan. There is already a known issue with the trans so it's not like you got anything special. But blow the motor with all the mods and you won't be so happy about it.
Here is the actual Nissan warranty from 04. It's only one section of it.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This section right here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT IS NOT COVERED
DAMAGE, FAILURES OR CORROSION DUE TO
ACCIDENTS, MISUSE OR ALTERATIONS
This warranty does not cover damage, failures or corrosion
resulting from:
■ Accident, theft, fire, driving through water (including engine
water ingestion) or misuse (Proper use is outlined in
your OWNER’S MANUAL).
■ Alteration, tampering or improper repair.
■ Installation of non-Nissan approved accessories or components.
■ Improper installation of any Nissan approved or aftermarket
accessory or component.
■ Glass breakage, unless resulting from defects in material
or workmanship.
ALTERED OR UNCERTAIN ODOMETER MILEAGE
This warranty does not cover repair of any vehicle or any part
of a vehicle of which the odometer mileage has been altered,
or the odometer repaired or replaced and the actual vehicle
mileage cannot be correctly and readily determined.
SALVAGE TITLE
This limited warranty does not apply to any vehicle, and is
rendered void if the vehicle is (or ever has been) issued a
“salvage” or similar title under any state’s law; or has ever been
determined to be a “total loss” or equivalent by any insurance
company, such as by payment of a cash payment of claim in lieu
of repairs because of a determination that the cost of repairs
exceeded the actual cash value of the vehicle.
DAMAGE, FAILURES OR CORROSION FROM
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
This warranty does not cover damage, failures or corrosion
resulting from:
■ Stone chipping, chemical fallout (acid rain), tree sap, salt,
hail, wind-storm, lightning, flood or other environmental
conditions.
■ The items listed below are not covered under corrosion
coverage (perforation from corrosion).
• Exhaust system components.
• Corrosion of outer trim parts, such as moldings. However,
corrosion of outer trim parts is warranted for
12 months or 12,500 miles, whichever comes first.
• Corrosion other than perforation, such as cosmetic
or surface corrosion due to defects in materials or
workmanship. This is covered under the Basic Coverage
of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
• Special bodies or equipment not manufactured or
supplied by Nissan.
DAMAGE, FAILURES OR CORROSION DUE TO
LACK OF OR IMPROPER MAINTENANCE
This warranty does not cover damage, failures or corrosion
resulting from:
■ Lack of performance of proper maintenance services as
outlined in your NISSAN SERVICE & MAINTENANCE
GUIDE.
■ Use of improper or dirty fuel, fluids or lubricants.
■ Use of parts not equivalent in quality or design to parts
supplied by Nissan.
MAINTENANCE SERVICE EXPENSE
This warranty does not cover normal maintenance services
as specified in your NISSAN SERVICE & MAINTENANCE
GUIDE such as engine tune-up; cleaning and polishing;
wheel alignment; headlight aiming; replacement of filters,
replacement of windshield wiper inserts, lubricants, coolant;
worn brake shoes, pads, drums and rotors and worn clutch
discs.
SEAT BELTS, TIRES, TRUCK BEDLINERS, AND
EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM
Seat belts, tires, truck bedliners, and the emission
control system are not covered by this warranty, but
are covered by separate warranties.
(See following pages for separate warranties which may
apply to your Nissan, such as those covering vehicle emissions,
seat belts, and tires.)

When you sign that contract, it's a legal binding agreement. Trust me, if they wanted to say no they could. All you gotta do is keep bitching. It's just easier to fix it and shut them up. In the long run its cheaper then paying the corporate lawyer. All depends on who you are dealing with.

The kicker is that they can't prove without a doubt that your mods caused the damage so it is easier and cheaper to just replace the damaged parts.

Yes they do not cover certain items... but unless the modification caused the problem it's covered.
