Default area hunters

Hey I moved into the area back in August. I havent been hunting in about 6 years and I especially love bird hunting. In fact I just got an English Setter puppy that Im going to be training. Anyways, Im just looking for somebody in the area who is interested in bird hunting or who has access to land. Right now Id just like somewhere to run the dog in the field. Thanks.

Can't help you but my father used to have 4 English Pointers that we used to hunt quail and pheasant with... good times.

I haven't done any real hunting in about 10 years... and have never hunted in the Hampton Roads area.

I dont think there is going to be too much hunting going on in this area. Im assuming its gonna be down south or west of here but Im really unfamiliar with the different areas so Im trying to find someone who would mind showing me around.

There's plenty of amounts and types of birds in this area. Just knowing/having the land to hunt them is the issue. Same with any of the hunting in this area. You either have your own land or hunt on somebody's that you know or join a hunt club and hunt . There are very few "public" hunting areas though.

I think you have it right, and thats what Im trying to do. I looked on Virginia's fish and game website and there are a few public hunting areas not too far from here but they are all wetland hunting. Im looking for more of a grassland area.

I have access to 40+acres in Suffolk, and visiting private grounds this weekend in New Kent for deer(possibly).
Family has an estate of over 150acres in NC, but we rarely use it.
