Yep.

One theory about what could have happened is the tires warming up... on my daily drive... increase in air temperature... and then it proved how thin the rim's walls are.

No way a rim cracked before a bead came off or a tire gave. Manufacturer's defect, no doubt about it! That is still a crazy thing to happen. Good luck man.

I completely agree... the rubber is perfect and pristine... Thats what pisses me off

Once I get my professional to look at this and make the official determination I'll be sure to keep you guys posted on what the owner of of AFS says about his rims.

yeah I have seen worse, considering I chipped a chunk out of my rim playing around in the rain. Seems curbs like to eat up rims

Worse but not weirder, which is the point of the thread.

Nice to know that the City paid for new rims for something that could be her fault for not noticing, but AFS Wheels is giving me a few-month long run-around to replace mine!

I'm starting to worry they're just scamming me and wont ever. Check out my URL http://members.cox.net/afswheels/

wow I read all of that, and think they should be reported to the BBB. He blamed not shipping the rims on his ADD?!! THEN proceeds to tell you he needs a $1,000 deposit?!! What a horrible business owner. Sorry to hear about your unfortunate situation.

I have sent him this new URL.

If he doesnt satisfy me very soon, I'll be sure to send it to all of his ebayers, to let them know of it. If That does not work, I will be contacting the BBB, my credit card company, and perhaps getting more serious and involving a lawyer.
