Rich... the recall is only a specific VIN range but everyone suspects that it is a C6 wide problem, it's not just the Z06's and it's not just a certain batch of cars. The ones most suceptible are the darke cars in hot climates.
Mods:
*LT headers (LGM, Kooks, or American Racing) w/ cats or w/o cats
*Hall-tech "race" filter (I'd leave it alone thoug) stock intake looks restrictive but isn't.
*Tune (headers and tune will put you about 480 rwhp)
If you want to go for more you can go w/ a cam package and get to 550-570 but there goes the warranty.
Personally I'd leave it stock power wise and spend the money on track stuff.
*Shark bar (for harnesses)
*6-pt harness set w/ mounting hardware
*CCW corsair wheels w/ some Michelline Sport Cups (not full slicks for you yet)
*Stop tech big brake kit, these stock brakes suck for track use. They pads are very very thin, very very expensive, and changint them is a PITA and the allen screws in the caliper tend to strip. The stockers really only look cool. Plus the stock rotors are crazy heavy, the cross drilling is for looks only and promotes earlier cracking... oh and the rotors are only left side rotors... the vanes point the wront way on the right side (way to go GM)... so first mod should be harnesses and Stop tech brakes... leave the power and tires until you get used to the car.
