It's cool to say where your Dad is going, but do not say what he is going to be doing, what he has done, or where he is now. Your Dad is a high ranking Officer of high importance. This information, no matter how innocent you may think it is, in the wrong hands can cause a lot of damage. OPSEC, is Operational Security. There are people within the United States whose only job is to find out information like this. By stating that your dad is going to be in the position he's going to be in over there, is also placing you at risk. Someone could track you down, kidnap you, and manipulate your father to give in to Terrorist Demands. It's not safe at all. Not to mention that you could also get into a lot of trouble from different agencies within the U.S. for leaking information. You could go to jail. Delete the parts about his job's, and the email you added. Trust me.

Change it ASAP.

 

This is a scenario right out of Information Assurance Awareness training that I have recieved in the Navy/Marine Corps. You need IA training.

 

His father also should have not sent that information to him via unsecured e-mail either. Dad needs refresher training, too.
