like ill say this so everyone can see it.
me and drftwzrd were telling everyone tonight.
its not about drifting or not drifting, these karts are fast as long as the revs are kept up. sliding shrugs the speed off horrifically in alot of them. I personally....... like to slide the kart until it is pointing in the direction of the APEX of the corner, and use that as my only slight loss of speed. and that took me a few times to figure out when and were to start sliding to make it stop sliding in the perfect spot.
the lines matter somewhat but at the same time i dont think they do, because drftwzrd had a what seemed awkward line (because its not what im used to) but stayed ahead of me, and kept me back..... so i cant say any line is better than another. i only passed him ONCE, and he passed me back 2 turns later. i ran the faster time over the heat but was behind him...... so its really not about who is in front....
the best bet i think IMO is to find someone a little faster than you, not crazy faster, but a little faster and stick to thier ass as best you can, until you figure out where they are fucking up and realize you can do better then BEAT THEM..... its how i learned.... i did a entire race with a old regular who used to come without lifting my eyes off his brake light the entire race.... i followed...
these tracks are all new to me as well, the tracks we had when i worked there are long gone and only 3 or 4 turns are the same...... i dont do this everyday nor do i go more than anyone on here, i go when its US.
this stuff is just really fun, and i enjoy it because i dont have to be a SPEC e30 racer to race with my friend who is exactly that. i enjoy the friendly competition we have, and had a great time trying to catch that lil fucker all night. haha
plus racing with people you know is alot better than racing with people you dont know..... it makes the mood alot easier and always a smile when you pass someone or get passed.

Well wtf am I then, because I cant catch you skinny bastards unless I start hooking up a sneaky pete system for the straights or something.
i was fine for most of the race until the damn hairpins and i lost it there..
revs dropped and everything, but i had my foot absolutely welded to the floor.
i know i easily lost 2-3 seconds in that one part of the track.
every time, i lost shawn in that one part of the track.

the hairpins there is NOTHING, you can do about it. the kart falls into the lowest powerband no matter what. its just how you come out of those turns that makes all the diff.....
some times i would try to brake a tad before going into the turn so the tires would stick and halfway through, full throttle out the turn. Sometimes i would just power through the turn and honestly, neither one would feel faster.

i was following you for as long as i could in those turns and everytime, your revs stayed waaay higher than mine and i was following the same line.

remember what number i was in? because i think the only races i did tonight were in the slightly advantaged karts that we have found...

I'm still claiming the 225+lb class now as mine. 47.6 *****.
Mike got me this week so i'll have to step up my game for next time. I like these events.
