Steve, the 120 bpf bats are only USSSA approved. That is what you need since you don't play in any ASA leagues like I do. The 98 bpf bats are for ASA and USSSA use. ASA still uses the 60 foot bases, so the bats aren't allowed to hit it as hard for safety reasons.
