What is up my VA Brethren.

A couple months ago, I came on here with the promise of making big things happen in the Fredericksburg area. Noob.

Well, things has come to fruition. Remember those Woodbridge car-meets 2 years ago. Well, I have arranged to host Über-meets on a HUGE parking lot. By HUGE this parking lot is 500+ parking spots. You are not seeing things, that is not a type. OVER FIVE HUNDRED PARKING SPOTS!!!! (See picture below) And it gets better. The parking lot is privately owned, meaning the cops can not force us to leave. In addition, I will have a letter from the property owners that will authorize me to have these meets (hopefully I will get the law enforcement support). And if things couldn't get any better, there are plans to have annual TRACK DAYS at the parking lot.

Now understand that this will be at a church property. There is NO obligation to attend/go to/volunteer at (etc.) this church.

Now with that comes some rules, we have to be respectful after all!
1)This will be a 100% drug/alcohol free event.
2)No racing through the lots (unless we are having an event of course)
3)NO BURNOUTS!!!

So my question to all of you is: “What is a date do you want to kick this off?”
I was thinking Friday/Saturday night meets at 10:00PM-Whenever

and by track days, do you mean autox?

 

Well there are medians all over the place, so it would be closer to Road Race than AutoX. Since there will be a lot of straights.

I want to Shoot for NEXT weekend, but I also want a good turn out.

 

if you want a good turnout give afew weeks to spread the word and stuff...

Not being a Debbie Downer or anything, but there's no way track days would work in that parking lot, unless you're talking bikes. Way too many curbs/medians. Yes, I've been there. As far as the meet goes though, I'd be down for it.

 

we could set up 1 cone and have a doughnut contest?

 

Um, also not to be a buzz kill, so assuming there is a 'track day' in a parking lot, is it hosted by NASA? SCCA? VMSC? And if not, who is liable if something goes wrong...and something probably will...and I'm not talking "I bent a rim hitting a curb", I'm thinking a little more bodily damage.

HEY PICK!!!

I've been turning my life around. So I needed sometime away from the crazyness. I still got's me the Talon, but I can't really divert money to it (isn't that everyone's story).

As for the track days, right now it is only a "plan." But it has passed the Board for approval AND insurance was already considered and has been addressed. This would not be endorsed by any sanctioning organization. Insurance liability would be handled.

Right now, I just want to focus on the Über-meets idea.
