shop in vinton/roanoke area
i need to get some minor work done on the vision. inner tie rod bushing replaced, motor mount, brakes, time for inspection.
anyways. i took my lude to Bass when i needed work on it done. but i've heard some *storys* (and that could be all it is) about them.
can anyone recomend a good and honest mechanic around here? in vinton would be great. if not maybe in roanoke on this side of town.
thanks

Wouldn't hurt. He put 4 tires (good ones), a new muffler, changed the oil, and inspected my girlfriend's Civic for $400 (including the tires/muffler themselves).

Bass as in Bass transmission in vinton? ROFLMAO!! I wouldnt take my lawn mower there let alone anything I actually drove on the road.
Quicky reason why.. Took a 700R4 (gm overdrive) front pump to them to have a bushing installed since UPS lost the bushing I ordered and I needed it done asap. The "lead trans guy" looked at me like I was from another planet when I told him what I needed and he said (and I quote) "we aint gots none of them things" all the while I was looking at a 700 front pump laying on the work bench with a new bushing in it. I laughed and walked out. Fuck tards..
Stay away from that newer place on rt 24 before the hop in too (I cant recall the name). Guy charged me for work that was done and parts that were replaced only to find out ~2wks later when I was under the vehicle that the parts werent replaced like was stated on the bill and that the work he was supposed to have done but did incorrectly ruined a good rear diff.
Also, when discussing u joint phasing and driveline angles with the owner he proved to me he was clueless when he said "the rear of a drive shaft doesnt care what angle the front is". Damn dude driveline angles/phasing is basic automotive engineering. If that wasnt the case then drive shaft shops would be out of business since no U joints would ever wear out. Fuck tard #2.
Take your car to Norms garage in roanoke off 9th st right above norwoods body shop (new building). Rob is the owner and is very knowledgable as well as a NICE guy so dont haggle with him on the cost.
