Niiiice And yes greg, pretty much every honda with an intake(or a hole in the stock piping) gets a whistle, although i dont know if the same goes in an escort!? id do what fc735 said and check that stuff. He seems to know what he's talking about, good luck man.

At least in the ones I helped work on.
Thats what I was thinking, some kind of frequency leak for the radio.

Do you have RCA's or a system ran in it?

i actually some what like them. few fast facts on the 91-96 Escort GT:

-based on 90-93 Mazda Protege platform
-1.8L DOHC BPD Mazda motor which is found in the 90-93 Protege, MX-3 and shares the same BP-series motor as the Miata
-has an AWD down under cousin known as the Ford Laser TX-3 that has a turbocharged 1.8L DOHC BP-T motor making 180hp/180ft-lbs tq
-has another AWD and turbocharged cousin known as the Cosworth RS...perhaps you have heard of it?
-actually has aftermarket support for them: http://www.corksport.com and http://www.zxtuner.com for instance
-unique? yup.

any idiot can fix a Honda, Toyota or a DSM but it takes someone who wants to be an individual to fix up an Escort. the people that tune their Escorts are very proud in taking something that gets looked down upon by others and making it something that is unique and will stand out. go to feoa.net or crank0r.com and look at all the people who take pride in having something different.

who knows, you could one day be lined up next to one at the track and it will blow your doors off. until you give the topic starter respect for wanting to have something unique, it would be wise for you to keep your snide comments about Ford Escorts to yourself.

and what perfomance parts could i put on a 91 ford escort LX 1.9l...throttlebody....

New engines..etc...cus now that he said it..my insurance would still be cheap as shit..but have a pretty fast little car...
