Yea..any ideas...some guy told me to check the tranny *its auto* seeing as it does shift hard now....seals around it are good..changing ALL Fluids out today...fun fun....i will note when i discconect the battery and let it sit..than re-connect the tranmission seems to shift smooth..but after awhile it gets rough again....I wasnt sure if escorts "learned" your driving patterns like the dodge dakotas...i know thouse learned how you drive and whats the opt to shift....which is neat...*wants his uncles damn truck :P*

The only other 2 sounds like that, I could imagine would have to do with the tranny, or with your stereo. I think the stereo part is caused when the power wire is too close to the speaker wires or blue sensor wire, I know in like the chevy trailblazers that was a big problem. At least in the ones I helped work on.

check the PCV line (the hard plastic one) that has rubber ends, it is VERY common to dry rot at the valve and intake. intake gaskets are big to go out on them also. of course, the IAC could be doing it also.

ever consider getting a 1.8L DOHC BP-T from a Ford Laser TX3 and getting rid of that wussy 1.9L gutless wonder? its an Aussie version of the Ford Escort GT but comes AWD and turbo from the factory. check out fordlaser.com for more info on them. and btw, i used to own a 92 Ford Escort GT....

listen guys we covered this in another thread awhile back...don't ever spend money on a ford escort, period...that is, unless you need cheap tires to roll it in a ravine.
