And what was the code for?Having low cylinder pressure(s) won't necessarily trigger a CEL- it could have been for a simple sensor issue. You could have not tightened the gas cap enough when refueling, and this is completely unrelated to the engine being worn out/damaged.

What were the leakdown test results? If they were to go strictly by the shop manual, you could be replacing an engine that doesn't have a huge problem yet, depending on what's defined as unaccepatable percentages.A four cylinder engine that has three cylinders drastically down in compression will run badly enough to be noticable. Was it smoking any?Did it feel like it made the power it should(did you drive any other examples of this car so you have something to compare to?)?I'm assuming everything appeared to be okay since you bought the car.Unless they're replacing the engine under warranty,I'd want concrete proof the engine is in bad enough shape to warrant replacing or rebuilding- I've heard that dealerships can sometimes be dishonest, believe it or not.

Well on the way home it threw misfire codes on cylinders 1,2,3.I drove it over 200 miles and it drove fine yeah it was alot slower than my redline and it had a little smoke off 1st which I read was common on these cars.I got it checked at berglund the leakdown results were over 30% thats the only way GM would replace the engine. Its not a huge deal cause its still under warranty I forgot to mention that one. The redline was great but the aftermarket support was so slim so I sold it.The carfax showed it did receive a new head like 15k miles ago I could tell it was fixed looking at it but I mean car didnt act like a broken engine would imo.But its all good warranty has it covered and I basically got a new engine in a car that I paid 13,500 for.

I honestly don't see how the dealer I bought it from didn't have the problem I literally drove 10 miles down the road when the cel came on but they were closed by then.I test drove it and it seemed fine doesn't make sense, I don't see how it could happen so fast I didn't go above 3k when I was driving it cause on the way down there I got a ticket for speeding(alot of speed traps).

Hi
I'm Lee. I live in Roanoke. I've seen a few of the embers rides around town. I have been here awhile but only joined yesterday. It would be nice to meet some automotive enthusiasts in my area. I've been going to the local "meets" but I'm not a fan of 16 year olds acting stupid and drawing negative attention. I'm 26 I Daily a Mini Cooper. If anyone near me is interested in doing a smaller much more controlled cruise night/meet I would be down. PM me

Well the Roanoke guys that post on here regularly are all pretty cool, but outside of that, the Roanoke car scene is mostly a joke. That is, unless you like kicking back with the much older crowd...then you will find some really nice classic American stuff. There is occasionally a VaDriven Western meet, usually coordinated by Woo and held in Salem somewhere. Those are much more adult geared and laid back.
