So ive been trying to research how to move a return vent but im not really getting any straight answers. Im replacing the heat pump system in a small brick ranch with a basement because of the electric baseboard heaters and im also installing new hardwood floor. I really want to relocate the floor turn vent thats in the middle of the house into a closet but i cant find any guides on this. I really cant justify paying a contractor 500 dollars to just move it a couple of feet.

I'm not sure I understand.Is it more difficult than just running new duct from the new location?Seems as long as you keep the same or larger diameter,there should be no problems.
I've never seen one in a closet though.
