Cellular service - Who do you use?
you might want to get updated.
anyone NOT with sprint who wants the SERO plan, PM me.
I travel internationally, so my GSM works great on T-Mobile. Here in the States, limited coverage but I travel highways mostly anyways so it's no problem.
I've had Verizon for the past few years, has worked pretty good really, really good reception, not too many dropped calls..
They seem kinda pricey to me, I am looking to get a new phone soon so I am looking around too..

All i can say is never get Ntelos..... the service is horrible. Some of the phone are ok as far as features go. Plans are decent.. unlimited minutes for something liek 50 bucks a months. Unlimited txts for an extra 5 a month.
Ntelos offers nothing but shit phones now. I don't care about the Razr, the Krazr, or the Slvr... Those are supposed to be the cream of the crop phones without upgrading to a smartphone (Treo, Blackberry, Q)
In case you haven't guessed yet, I worked for Ntelos for a period of time. It's a very fucked up company, but the price for just about any feature or rate plan is going to be cheaper than any other wireless company. Ntelos is small, especially in comparison.
Regardless of the cost, I'd rather stick with US Cellular than ever go back to Ntelos. I had Ntelos service several years ago for my personal cell phone.
BTW, the unlimited minute plans start out as cheap as $39.99 with network long distance. If you want nationwide long distance, it's $49.99... $59.99 gives you the same as the $49.99, but you get 100 roaming minutes. $69.99 gives you 200 roaming minutes. If you want unlimited minutes and roaming, you would typically be better off getting the $49.99 plan and adding a package called the "roaming buydown package" which cost $2.99 per month and takes your roaming rate from $0.49/minute to $0.15/minute. That way you don't have a set amount of minutes... You pay per minute, and if you don't use 100+ minutes in roaming, nothing goes to waste.

What plan are you on that gives you unlimited texting for $5 a month? As far as I know, unlimited text messaging has never been that cheap other than with the nAdvance plans, which at one point had a $4.99 promotional unlimited text messaging option, but that's $6.99 now (prepay), and the regular postpay/contract accounts cost $9.99 for unlimited text now, or $7.99 if you already had it before March 15th.

As far as phones go, right now i have the Kyocera Strobe, its a pretty decent phone. I mean its nothing like a smartphone but still.
I figure when i turn 18 im switching to another service. So you say US Cellular is pretty good? What phones and features do they have to offer?
haha yes, my nokia 6255i was the biggest pile of shit phone I've ever used. I blamed it on USC for the first few months then borrowed my gf's phone (also USC) for a day and it worked everywhere mine didn't, so I realized it was just the POS phone. I swear I could climb a fucking USC tower and it'd still be roaming.... Got a new blackberry and I <3 US Cellular again.
