When you say "this guy" who are you actually referring too? You know there is a neat little tool on this forum called the "Reply With Quote" function.

I think you meant to say, "then waste his time" but because you are finger fucking the keyboard, your blood shot eyes has you misspelling words.

I thought in this instance you would want to use "then" because usually you'll use "than" in a comparison, for example

Than
Tom is smarter than Bill

Then
Do your homework then go to bed

 

It's "than" because you're comparing him doing something rather "than" wasting his time.

Hard to not use the word in the explanation.

"Then" is used in a sequential sense.
