Default FRAM oil filters? Are they really as good as they say, or as bad?

I've heard several different opinions on Fram. On one end of the spectrum they say the internals are trash, do a horrible job filtering, and don't last long. I also hear the internals are made of cardboard? And on the other end of the spectrum I hear they are the best thing since sliced bread. This is usually heard by guys from auto stores like Autozone or Pep Boys. Opinions?

From working at Jiffy Lube for a few months now the only problem I ever see with them is the gasket doesn't always stay attached.. And I'm pretty sure its aluminum or something to that effect on the inside of them and not cardboard.

i will use one on a stock motor but anything 'high' performance nothing but OEM or K&N oil filters for me.

My Gsx saw oem filters all the time, til i found the k&n filters never had a problem!! they are expensive as shit but worth every penny.

I have personally seen a fram filter blow the housing right off the inner part of the filter at Summit Point on a GSXR-1000. Caused oil to go EVERYWHERE and caused the rider to lowside after riding through it. I will never use one again. Usually OEM filters are great, I use K&N if not OEM S2000 filters on my ED civic hatch, and my bike.

Forgot to add, I would never personally use one on my car. OEM has never done me wrong, and I have yet to use a K&N filter.

JUNK.

use OEM or OE.

i stock about 122 part numbers, and if you buy from the right places, OEM filters are less expensive than cheap shit like Fram, purolator, and that duetz crap AZ sells.

Correct me if I'm wrong but; Honeywell makes OEM Honda filters. Doesn't Honeywell make fram filters too?

Yeah Fram's are ass. We cut a Fram filter open in one of my automotive classes, and it to me it looked like cardboard inside of it. Then we cut open a Carquest oil filter and saw its filtering elements.... A CARQUEST FILTER IS A FILTER SON!!! They're cheap and they last a loooong time.

Carquest bitch! lol.
