Default why i did so well on feb 9th

this is why i did better than normal at the last event. i have no tread! notice how it's worn in the middle of the tire. i was definitely getting some crazy traction. keep in mind i've had these tires since august. i have a question for you seasoned vetrans..... is it normal/good to wear in the middle of the tire? i think that would seem right, b/c w/ turning left and right, sometimes one side is not on the ground, but the center is always on the ground.

are your shocks shortened body aftermarket shocks? going too low can limit your shock travel, thats why i only chose to lower mine about 1.5"

your tires seem to be over inflated

i run 36-38 psi on the street. i run the tires at about the same rate also, hehe, j/k. as for my struts, i have koni yellows. i don't have the nuespeed short shafted ones up front, but i'll get those later. i'm not really worried about shock travel. if i handle worse on the street and/or the next race, then i'll raise it back up.

as far as over inflating, i run it high at autox b/c it's a cold tire. i very experienced racer, greg smith told me to try it and it was great. if i run anything anything less (while it's cold) i run over the sidewall.

no wonder its wearing in the middle. 36-38 on daily driving is pretty high. i run 32-34ish. shrug. i was at 36 on my tires and noticed it wearing in the middle.

Uh, that would not be a good idea. Although you may think that balding the tires, thus giving you the "slick" look, would be a performance gain, it actually isn't. I am no tire engineer but what I do know is that the rubber compound is not the same through the entire tread. That is why guys with Khumos, Hoosiers and other r-compund tires get rid of them when the tread is just about gone.

This is even true for street tires since I have run on near bald tires on the street in the past (just being lazy I guess ) and I noticed a huge performance drop.
