$30 mem / $35 non (in advance.) Should be at least 5-6 runs each, big fun VMP course design as usual. Alternate date due to weather is two weeks later, Sun Feb 6. |

Aw man this looks like a blast, gonna have to think about this one. Only thing holding me back right now is the hour and 20 minute drive.

1h20 is nothing... people travel way further than that to go fast legally ;)
Plus you don't have to be there until 10am (when registration and tech open.) |
Re: NASA autocross! Sun Jan 23, 2011 at VMP
its only about 25 minutes for me tehe
honestly tho, are the cones for auto-x confusing? |
Re: NASA autocross! Sun Jan 23, 2011 at VMP
Shouldn't be confusing, the course design is a mini-roadcourse that runs the perimeter of the lot and has little to no crossover. So you're basically either going clockwise or counterclockwise. Sign up for a later heat so you can see how it's driven during the first heat, it all makes much more sense once it's happening in front of you. Also see the many in-car vids from VMP linked from http://www.nasaracing.net/autox.htm

I travel 2 hours and its damn worth it. Done it from everything to prepped cars to stock miatas to an automatic old lexus. Hell id probably do it in my Yukon if it was allowed (probably a good thing, id probably flip it). You get way more runs than a typical autocross if your comparing it to another local autocross. Ill be signing up shortly, making sure my codrivers car isnt broke ;) |
