More like... a broomstick is placed horizontally from the top of the rollbar to the top of the windshield and the top of your helmet needs to be 2" under it (may be less than 2" depending on the track and/or the organization.)

Not that I have seen, but you may still need to demonstrate that your helmet is below the rollbar while a tech inspector looks in through the passenger window.

^ Sorry for the misinfo.... thanks for clarifying!

Shawn... I can fit in a miata w/ an Ultrashield. Theres a guy who autocrosses around here w/a white one w/ fender flares. Older guy and hes over 6 feet. We were taking a couple of years ago at ACU-4 and he let me sit in his... was the first time I had ever been comfortable in a Miata.

Im comfortable in a miata with stock seats, and I can fit in one with stock seats or ultrashields.

Foamectomy the stock seats is the way to go! I've never did it when I had my Miata, but have test sat in several larger people's seats that did, and when done right it's pretty impressive.

It's no racing seat, but pretty damn comfortable and supportive to boot.
