Just go to a regular autox! It's autox, not track racing. Autox is like practice for the track, but much slower and with almost nothing to run into. I just started this season with my scion xa with the DC BMW club. Really fun and easy to do. Just go to an event to check it out and see how it works. Have fun.

+2....just go do it. Everyone I've ever met at auto-x's is always nice and willing to help/give pointers.

Just be aware that it can lead to more auto-x'ing and track driving

The WDCR Washington DC SCCA chapter, or autocrossers inc would be 2 great groups for you to get involved with. I've run with both of them and they were both great. I'd recomend trying Autocrossers Inc first, the WDCR guys can be pretty intimidating for beginners.

+1

CDC holds a pretty laid back autox - I'd definitely suggest starting at one of their events.
