They do but in a 35-65 second Autox run they will not have enought time to get hot and stay hot.

Well if you are only ever going to do 1 or 2 HPDE's then take them to the track. If you plan on doing more and really want to learn how to drive on track the throw them in heavy plastic bags an wait until you have done 4-5 events. On track over driving a tire can be very costly. In many many ways.

I'd recommend staying on street tires, too. This is my 2nd season on street tires, and I'm contemplating a 3rd- I'm pretty sure I have the skill to move up and be competitive in open class, but I'm still learning and just too inconsistent.

There are different levels of r-comps; competition tires are the fastest, but wear extremely quickly, too. R-comps that last a bit longer are a bit slower, too. A good set of very-high end street tires (Star Specs, RE-11, Ecsta MX) are not far removed from average r-comps and will take much more abuse, while still providing more warning on the edge while you learn. If your r-comps are old and hard, there may not be any difference at all.

Plus, you don't have to worry about changing wheels The local street tire classes are pretty competitive, so you'll still have fun.

What's the natural frequency of your front and rear suspension?

No I'm not kidding you. Engineers make the big bucks for a reason.

Ok great you found a website. Now can you explain how any thing on that site is pertinent to any of the discussions in this thread? I mean the OP asked about adding forced induction to a FWD car and then its has ended up in a discussion about when and why to switch to R compounds.

Please help me understand where you were going. I'm always down for some schoolin'.

**Edit** Did you read #3 about the driver not being perfect? Not to sound like a dick but after reading the posts in this thread did you really come to the conclusion that the info on that site help and not confuse? Again I'm just asking.
