zc, worth the boost?
Bought a 91 crx with a zc conversion out of an 89 teggy. Dont have much experience with these motors, but is it worth the build to boost or should i just spend the money for a b20 and turbo that?

Re: zc, worth the boost?
DOHC ZC is basically only worth a shit if it's boosted.
Not as many aftermarket parts available for those motors, as they are entirely unique.

Re: zc, worth the boost?
86-89 integra=D16A1=ZC
english, the ZC and D16A1 are the same motor, the D16A1 is the US counterpart to the Jap ZC, the cams and compression ratio are more aggressive in the ZC
IIRC, 86-87 D16A1 has about 110-115hp(which is a vac advance motor), 88-89 D16A1 120hp, and the ZC 130hp
But depends on what you are looking for, low HP, drivability stick with ZC, you wanna go fast get a B series, and if your thinking B20 you might as well save some money cause your your gonna need sleeves and a way to release crankcase pressures(nice catch can setup).

"its the same motor.... But its different". WTF?
And there are people(even on this site) that have been running 14lbs +/- for years on stock block b20s.
Op. What ever you decide to do just get a good tune.

Re: zc, worth the boost?
Your contradicting your self... The dohc zc has a higher compression ratio; which is important to know he's talking about boost.

But I agree with you on the rest.
Sleeves are just a good thing to have. But really the tune is where its at.

all motor......... and zc go single dont have much experience in sohc world but only heard good things from sohc users. but myself would just save the 700 bucks and go b series. but in the end you will do what you want man. good luck no matter what
