Z6 Crank Vs Y8
Hey i was wondering is there any difference at all between a obd1 d16z6 crankshaft, and a obd2 d16y8 crankshaft? will rods that fit a Z6, also fit a Y8...and can the Y8 crank go into the Z6 block? with Z6 head. thanks for ANY help, later.

Re: Z6 Crank Vs Y8
The y8 and z6 cranks are interchangable, however if you run a y8 block you need a y8 oil pump, and if you run a z6 block, you need a z6 oil pump.
The rod journals are the same, and p28 pistons will fit just fine.
The crank will fit in either a z6 or y8 block.
