Year differences in the gsr exhaust manifold?
I just bought a set of 4-1 headers for my 2000 gs-r , however I noticed they advertised a difference between 96-99 and 2000-2001. Is there a difference in placement or is that just how dc advertised it?

I hear there is a difference in the length on the bottom of the header, or will it really matter its going in a civic ( civic exhaust)

Yes, there is a difference.
The 96-99 GSR header is shorter and wont reach the cat on a eg civic, been through alot of different headers. The LS header will fit so will the 00-01 GSR header and same with type-r
headers (with modification to the cat) they are all the same in length. I am not positive, but i think the b16
header should be the same.
