using sensor from mas to change whether it is lean/rich at certain rpms. you use an afc to "hack" into the ecu to trick it into giving more/less fuel.
well, at least that's my definition. i'm sure i'll be corrected if i'm wrong.

i think he's talking about the way you set your SAFC to control 450cc injectors to run under boost without a FMU or missing link of that kind.

yes, there is a hack part. the hack part is the afc tricking the ecu into thinking the map sensor isnt seeing boost. remember, not all cars have the capabilities to deal w/ postive manifold pressure stock...

btw, how it works on a honda is...the afc acts as a voltage clamp on the map sensor. it alters the voltage coming out of the map by increasing or decreasing the voltage to make the ecu think the motor needs more or less fuel. what this allows you to do is run larger injectors (much larger than stock, up to like 500cc i believe) and turn the voltage way down to idle the injectors very low to where you dont run pig rich at idle or anywhere in the rpm range. you can tune a high and low rpm map so you dont run correctly at WOT at 3k but really rich at part throttle at 3k. thats about as simply as i can explain to you how it works. you can go into more detail and talk about the side effects but thats essentially how it works.
