WRX Intakes.
Short Ram, CAI, or no intake at all?
Is it worth spending the money to get an intake for a turbocharged vehicle?
What was some people's first mod on their wrx?
thanks-

Victum went in this order:
1. Removed intake resonator chamber
2.HKS BOV
3. Apexi catback exhaust.
An intake will probably work although it will most likely cause the check engine light to come on, but there is a fix for that...

I don't think you can get a "short ram" intake on a wrx with the stock setup.
You also cannot run "no intake at all" with the stock mas.
There are CAI for turbocharged cars...but whether that makes a difference or not is one of the on-going debates.
It's worth getting on some cars. According to some of the US based wrx tuning companies, they advise not getting an intake until you have the ecu modified to work with it. If you ask me I think that's a bunch of horse shit but I really don't have much to back that up, they supposedly dyno tested it.

You don't need to get an aftermarket intake until you HAVE to (fmic). The stock one does a great job and the gains from aftermarket ones are... well... exaggerated. A few hundred bucks is better spent on engine management that can actually give you ~20-30hp on a stock car. If you're gonna modify a WRX, you need engine management in the early stages anyway... might as well start off with it.
