Default Window Tint

Anyone have any suggestions for getting old tint off cleanly. It looks like it was tinted on top of other tint and is now peeling off. I peeled the first layer off and tried scraping the second layer off with a razor but its coming out horribly. Would I be better off going to a shop and having it removed and retinted since I do plan on getting it retinted?

You know how you're not supposed to use Ammonia based window cleaner on tint?? If it won't peel off, soak that shit down w/Windex. It should soften it up for you. If you need a little more help, throw some heat on it.

Get some newspaper and make an ammonia solution, soak the newspaper and slap it up on the glass. Glass cleaner should work also but it will take a lot longer.

most likely its just the old tint seperating....thats what happened to my civic when i finally had the tint redone, it looked like someone just plastered some other shit on top of something but the tint guy explained it to me....also, a trick he told me , to save me 100 bucks next time i get my shit tinted , is to get a way to steam the window, heat the tint up , and use a disposable razer if the tint isnt wanting to come off rihgt...i sat there and watched him do that and was amazed ....be careful wiht the back window though if you have a rear defroster cause it can fuck it up if not done rihgt

Yes, be really careful with the defroster.. Don't use metal tools if you can help it at all, try to get the film off and then gently remove the adhesive. It's a real bitch, but nothing's ever easy..
