Will a B18c work?
Hey, i was just had a quick question. I have a civic SI with the stock bottom end. The head however has skunk 2 stage 2 cams. I wanted to go with a stock GSR bottom end and try to get a little more hp and torque. Would there be any problems with this? Such as the cam lobes, or the pistons hitting. Any input would be helpful, pretty big dission. Alot of money involved. Thanks - Matt

i've got the same set up as you currently, and i'd highly recommend swapping out the pistons if you do this. a b16 head on a gsr block lowers the compression, probably below 10:1. that low of compression will suck with the stage 2 cams. the lower compression would probably compensate for the added displacement and result in a net gain of 0 low end power.
there are a few inexpensive OEM piston options to raise the compression back up... CTRs, P30s, maybe even ITRs. but to answer your question, you shouldn't have any clearance problems, but it's always a good idea to clay your motor just to make sure.
