Why is my lude smoking?

Ok, I have a 1989 lude that has had a recent partial rebuild.. new cams ,head gasket ,and bored with new pistons from a newer prelude....when the car is fully warm and I take off after letting it idle in place for a while smoke comes poofing out of my car..the longer I let it idle in place..the longer the smoke comes out..when I'm driving and I put it in nuetral and put it back in gear it stops sometimes...it's not the o2 sensors cuz I replaced them yesterday and the engine light is still on even though the sensors were bad...I think it may be something with my fuel cuz the smoke does not smell like oil...it smells rich...its running rich, it dosen't do it when I get on it either, only when it idles and I take off...but I just need some opinions cuz I have no choice but to keep this car cuz of money issues...I am also going to see what the engine light is trying to tell me at pep boys...hopefully it's something small and easy....but give me some ideas on what ya'll think it is..thanks.

what color is the smoke? if its blue its burning oil. If its white, your burning coolant. And if its black, your running rich.. If its burning oil it could be ure piston rings are leaking, or maybe even your valves.. this is just in general i know nothing about hondas

white smoke= bad. Other then coolant is possibly a blown headgasket...recheck it?

Considering it just had that work done...would bet on one of those things being the culprit.

No....it did not do any of this when I bought it and the previous owner did the work...but pep boys wants $75 just to look at it and tell me whats wrong!!!! The other day it wouldn't start and I let it sit for a while and she cranked right up afterwards...I think it's a fuel problem since it's flooding.

What kind of cams? If they are aftermarket and on the radical side, you probably just need some tuning. Other things that could make it run really rich are the throttle position sensor (TPS) and manifold abs. pressure (MAP) sensor. The coolant temp sensor could also have a hand in it. You can look up the trouble code yourself, if you have an OBD0 (88-91 ECU) car, there will be a two sets of flashes. The first is the tens place, and the second is the ones place. The tens will flash out slowly, pause, and then the ones will flash out quicker. For example, 3 slow flashes then 4 fast flashes would be a code 34. If you're only getting fast flashes, you have a single digit code like code 7 or something. I'm pulling these out of my ass for sake of illustration.
The OBD0 and OBD1 codes should be the same, and here they are..

1 O2A - Oxygen sensor #1
2 O2B - Oxygen sensor #2
3 MAP - manifold absolute pressure sensor
4 CKP - crank position sensor
5 MAP - manifold absolute pressure sensor
6 ECT - water temperature sensor
7 TPS - throttle position sensor
8 TDC - top dead centre sensor
9 CYP - cylinder sensor
10 IAT - intake air temperature sensor
12 EGR - exhaust gas recirculation lift valve
13 BARO - atmospheric pressure sensor
14 IAC (EACV) - idle air control valve
15 Ignition output signal
16 Fuel injectors
17 VSS - speed sensor
19 Automatic transmission lockup control valve
20 Electrical load detector
21 VTEC spool solenoid valve
22 VTEC pressure valve
23 Knock sensor
30 Automatic transmission A signal
31 Automatic transmission B signal
36 traction control found on JDM ecu's
41 Primary oxygen sensor heater
43 Fuel supply system
45 Fuel system too rich or lean
48 LAF - lean air fuel sensor
54 CKF - crank fluctuation sensor
58 TDC sensor #2
61 Primary oxygen sensor
63 Secondary oxygen sensor
65 Secondary oxygen sensor heater
71 random misfire cylinder 1
72 random misfire cylinder 2
73 random misfire cylinder 3
74 random misfire cylinder 4
80 Exhaust Gas Recirculation insufficient flow detected
86 ECT Sensor (Engine Coolant Temperature) circuit range / performance problem
90 Evaporative Emission Control System leak detected in the fuel tank area
91 Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor low input
92 Evaporative Emission Control System insufficient purge flow

By the way, smoking is bad.. ;)

Generally speaking, it's impossible for a Honda to smoke. Check to see if a domestic engine was transplanted by mistake.

That is humor.

Yeah...man you're right....there is a four cylinder mustang engine in it LOL!!!! But yeah I used to think the same thing until a poof of smoke came out and it got even worse.

Damn...thanks for taking your time to type all of that shit...the dude at pep boys said that when they check your engine light it only tells you the area that the problem is in and I will have to pay him extra to find the real problem...the check is $20 and he wants $75 to do his "extra evaluation"....looks like those codes say the excact problem to me...do ya think he is trynna rip me off?
