Whats the Difference between 4WD and AWD?
Ive looked and yet to find nething different?
is it jus mainly one is slapped on car's and the other is slapped on suv's/trucks?

4WD just doesn't sound right for a car. When you see 4WD you think of off-roading and such. AWD sounds like something for safety in the rain. FWD means gas milage and RWD means real performance.

no not the same thing. AWD is all wheel drive. all meaning all the time. 4wd normally has a shifter or something to switch between 2 and 4wd

beach, my 01 highlander does not come with a shifter to change from 4wd to 2wd or nething its jus all time 4wheel

ok all time 4 wheel is either a clutch type where when the back starts spinning the front engages or its just like the awd on the wrx. all 4 wheels drive all the time.
