Default Weber 32/36 DGEV For 87 CRX Carbed

OK so after my CRX finally giving up on me i sent the head to the shop to get some work done. While it was away i decided to buy a Weber 32/36 to replace the old system and hopefully get rid of some of the vacuum lines. To my dismay i spent many hours searching for a write up on this but everything i found was rather vague. So I'm putting this up on Driven for the hopes that someone someday can have a little more insight on how to devac and install a 32/36.

this is also a as i go thread I'm still in the process of finding all the parts and problems i have so when i finish this will be a good write up i don't want to wait till I'm done and forget something.

OK first thing i did was unmounted all the vacuum boxes and removed the head all in one step so everything was still attached to the head except the block. sorry i don't have pics for this. Now before i get flamed for doing it in this manner, i pulled the head because i needed to replace the valve seals. I also could not access any of the underside intake manifold bolts for removal of the intake manifold.

Then i took all the vacuum lines and stock carb off of the intake manifold. followed by many hours of searching to see what was needed and what was not.

should look like this no vacuum boxes no head.

next i sent the head to the shop and spent some time finding the things i needed to get rid of the vacuum holes. 3/8 Brass plugs and vacuum caps seem to do the trick.

also had to Quick Steel the Coolant whole for the old carb.

so the only two vacuum lines that are left are the two on top of cylinder number 2 intake runner.

OK so i got the head back and its nice and pretty also got the valve cover sandblasted and im waiting for the paint to cure before install. The guys at The Head Shop INC. hook me up nice and also tapped all the broken exhaust manifold studs out for me. ( apparently the previous owner thought that 3 out of 6 exhaust manifold bolts was enough SMH.

so i forgot to pick up some Brillo pads to clean up the block for the head gasket. so ill be to doing that tomorrow. more to come in the next week.

i also apologize for the crappy pictures im poor and cant afford a camera.
