My trans is missing the piece of paper to show you the trans code. I wanna find out for sure what trans code it is before i buy parts for it. I know its a b series trans and i was told by the previous owner it was a b16 trans but with out the paper i cant confirm it. Is there any other way to tell on the case ?

If people can put b16, gsr, ls, itr gears sets in the various cases, then it does not matter what you have exactly since you can make whatever you want. Think about it. I did.

Pull the case half, count the teeth, do simple math, figure out what you have.
