Default Wastegate help please

I bought a used Tial 38mm wastegate and It looks to be in good condition for the most part but I was looking at it and there is a small gap in between the exhaust valve and the valve seat in the elbow. Is this normal? The gap is big enough to see light through...
Thanks

If the valve moves freely, the small gap should be fine. Double check that there is actually a spring in the wastegate and that everything else looks fine.

Thanks smartass not saying he is wrong but there's nothing wrong with a second opinion. I don't know why people post useless BS...... I do appreciate the actual help.

there is a fire ring that is supposed to be there. If you could take a picture of the light gap you are talking about it would help but there is supposed to be a metal ring and I remember having one that didn't come with it and it leaked like crazy. Bought the fire ring and it held just fine. Try to take a picture for us and it would help us help you a little better.

here is a picture of where the metal ring should be. If you don't have this and you can see light in that area then you will need to purchase a new fire ring and it should be fine.
