Default VW check engine code question?

For those of you that know about VWs, how do you reset the check engine codes on a 2000 4Motion Passat? I have an emissions code and will like to reset it before replacing the O2 sensors to see how long it takes for it to come back. Thanks.

you will need either a generic OBDII scantool, or VAG-COM.

why should it be coming back? the point is to fix cars is it not?

You're correct, I want to fix it but the code appeared the day a local VW dealership worked on something else and the sensors have already been replaced once since then. I want to make sure they didn't mess up the wiring since they can't figure out what the problem is. So there's no holding of the key or switch trick to reset it then? That sucks...
